Five Reasons to Install a VELUX Solar Hot Water System
- Your VELUX solar hot water system can help you play your part in reducing global carbon emissions as it provides up to 70%of your homes hot water requirements.
- By going green with renewable energy does not mean you have to forfeit aesthetics. VELUX solar collectors integrate harmoniously with their surroundings to ensure a visually attractive roof design.
- The VELUX solar hot water system has been fully approved and has strong ties with independent accredited installers to give you complete peace of mind.
- A VELUX system is supplied to your installer as a complete solar hot water package. This ensures total compatibility between components, thus providing optimum performance.
- Government incentives are in place which mean that if your solar system is purchased and installed by a certified installer, then you only pay 5%VAT, which could mean quite a considerable saving.
VELUX Solar Hot Water System Package
VELUX design and produce all the elements necessary for the installation of your system – solar collector(s), underfelt sealing collars, appropriate flashings, solar tank, control unit/pump station pipes, dual coil hot water cylinder, pre-insulated pipes and safety mixer valve to ensure a constant supply of safe hot water to your taps. VELUX solar tanks are also easy to connect to existing heating systems.
For further piece of mind it’s worth knowing that the VELUX system meets all current UK and Ireland standards and the collectors are certified to EN12957 for durability.
The collectors also have the solar KeyMark which is the quality mark for European solar thermal products. All plumbing elements areWRAS certified and electrical components are CE marked.
VELUX Solar Components
The VELUX solar hot water system uses simple but effective technology whereby the solar collectors absorb the sun's rays and heat the fluid which runs through the system to the solar storage tank. This is even the case when the weather is not at it's best and when there is insufficient solar irradiation to provide all of your hot water, an automatic programmer turns on your boiler.
VELUX solar collectors can also be installed side by side with VELUX roof windows.
